Review: “All Colour Book of Dragons, Ogres, and Wicked Witches” by Milos Maly

For the love of books

Milos Maly collected diverse fairy tales from Europe and other countries around the world and presented them together in All Colour Book of Dragons, Ogres, and Wicked Witches.

Each story in this collection has different content and morals, but all the fairy tales have unforgettable humor, wisdom, and romance.  Some tales like The Devil’s Portrait emphasize the power and reality of evil in everyday life without any magic per se, while others demonstrate the power of goodness and its ability to conquer evil (with the help of a little magic). The main characters in each fairy tale are very human as opposed to the magical creatures and beings with whom they interact in the storyline.  They are fallible and weak against the strength of their antagonists.  However, not only love but also ingenuity and honesty defeat all obstacles in each tale, despite the protagonists’ flaws.  All Colour Book of Dragons, Ogres, and Wicked Witches is an anthology of myth and magic that is not childish and immature but satirical and serious, including folk tales that are enjoyable as well as educational for mortals.

  1. Great blog! Sounds Punchyish. Have you heard any of the Punchy Land skits yet? They are quite entertaining and crazy; the music is awesome too! Fictional characters being silly portray or are faced with all kinds of bizarre situations. Just beware they hook you in a strange sort of way…
